The 2 Days Toubkal Trek is a short but challenging hiking route that takes you to the summit of Mount Toubkal, the highest peak in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. The trek typically begins in the village of Imlil and follows a well-marked trail through the beautiful mountain landscape, passing through Berber villages and lush forests along the way. The first day of the trek involves a moderate to challenging hike to the Toubkal Refuge, a mountain hut located at an altitude of 3,207 meters (10,530 feet) where you will spend the night. The second day involves a steep ascent to the summit of Mount Toubkal, which stands at 4,167 meters (13,671 feet). From the summit, you will be rewarded with stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. The 2 Days Toubkal Trek is suitable for fit and experienced hikers and is best undertaken between the months of April and November.
70 km from Marrakech, Imlil is your starting point to this hike. You will hike through an Amazigh village, in which you may interact with the indigenous people who are still keeping the culture alive. Hike up ( 4 hrs), we take a lunch break in Sidi Chamharouch, which is a pastoral shrine that attracts tourists and pilgrims alike ( only Muslims are allowed to cross the stone bridge to visit the marabout shrine itself). Thereafter we continue our ascent to the Toubkal refuge.
Very early start for the climb of summit Mont Toubkal, in general the ascent is relatively uncomplicated, however, making our way through the rubble and the altitude will make the hike quite difficult in parts. Once there, the view from the top is mesmerizing, widely open, you will observe all of the mountains surrounding the Marrakesh Plain, the High Atlas, the Anti-Atlas and the Sahara. will descend to Imlil village the same day and be transferred to Marrakesh.
