Experiencing the adventure of trekking the Atlas mountains valleys and climbing the highest peak in the Atlas Mountains -Mount Toubkal- it is unlike anything else.

On The High Atlas discovery Trek tour, you will be accompanied by a Moroccan Amazigh guide, porters and mules as you explore the Amazigh valleys of the Atlas and climb Mount Toubkal the highest peak in the Atlas Mountains.

You'll get to encounter Amazigh food, people, history and experience the Amazigh culture for yourself. We will start our trip by hiking up to Tizi n’Techt from Imi Oughlad, overnight in Id Issa village, next day we will explore the red valley Azzaden and we visit one of the highest waterfalls in the Atlas -Ighouliden waterfall-, before we set our camp in Lepiney hut to pass the second night. Third night in Toubkal refuge preparing for the last day to ascend the Toubkal summit.

  • Day 1 Marrakech - Imioughlad - id Issa

Driving to the gorges of Tahanaout and Moulay Brahim passing via Asni valley onto the small village of Imi Oughlad to start our journey.

Your guide will meet you and run through what to expect from the days ahead. We will set off at a leisurely pace into the forest of pine and juniper arriving to Tizi N’Tachet, from the top a panoramic view of Imlil and Azzaden valleys.

Later, we stop for a picnic lunch and we continue toward Id Issa, a small Berber Village. You will sleep sweetly tonight at an Amazigh guesthouse located in the deep part of the Atlas Mountains.

  • Day 2 : I d Issa - Lepiney hut

By now you’ll be nicely adjusted to Morocco time, making an early wake up for an epic mountain scenery. Add coffee and an excellent breakfast and it doesn’t get any better! Full of energy, we’ll hike through the red valley all over the walnut tree groves , fields of corn and barley, to reach one of the highest waterfalls in the Atlas mountains -Ighouliden waterfall- and it is our first stop for lunch and recuperation.

After lunch we’ll journey up to the Lepiney hut where we will settle in for the night.

  • Day 3 : Lepiney hut - Tizi N’Aguelzim - Toubkal refuge

This morning we’ll hike the Tizi N’Aguelzim (3650m) track, a spectacular zigzag path traced by mules. The hike is a bit difficult. We’ll enjoy lunch after our ascent, then it’s a descent to Toubkal refuge, our base for the next night.

You'll have time to meet different people from different places, all together here for one purpose climbing the Toubkal summit. You’ll sleep sweetly, preparing for an early wakeup.

  • Day 4 : Toubkal refuge - Toubkal summit - Imlil

An early wake up around 4am, you will find breakfast ready and the guide is waiting for you. You will start the ascent toward the summit wearing torches and hoping to catch the sunrise once you reach the top. The view from the peak is magical, a 360° over the Atlas Range and the Sahara Desert.

Later, you will descend the trail back down directly to Chamharouch Marabout for lunch, then you continue to Imli village where you have two options: you stay for an extra night or you will be transferred to Marrakech that evening. This hike is the longest one on this journey around 9 hours walk and 2 hours drive. The altitude changes from 4,167m the Toubkal summit down to 1700m Imlil village then to Marrakech 466m
