Hiking in morocco - 2 days

Hike in the heart of the High Atlas mountains. Our route traverses several valleys and Berber Villages, passing by open screen summits and picturesque tarns. This is a challenging route that takes us up the Imlil Valley before crossing the Tzi Mzik pass into the wild waterfall of Tamsoult. The trail passes through wilderness of craggy peaks, mountain streams, before descending into the broad of the Tizi Oussem village and much more to discover.

On this hike you will experience a remarkable piece of Atlas mountains valleys that few get to see. Savour the breathtaking vistas of unspoiled backcountry along a trail that is forever changing and guaranteed to provide plenty of awe, wonder and challenge!

ITINERARY

Day 1 : Marrakech – Imlil – Tamsoult waterfalls - Tizi Oussem village.

Leave Marrakech toward Imlil village situated in the High Atlas, our starting point for this 2 days trek. enjoying the road to this Amazigh Village you’ll pass by Tahnnaout, Oued Ghighaya and Asni valley.
When Arrival to Imlil meet your guide & muleteer, Briefing and a cup of mint tea before the departure, the first part of our trek is to march uphill the Tizi Mzik pass (2684m), a spectacular view from above the Imlil valley, a quick stop for pictures and we resume the path down to Tamsoult to visit one of the highest waterfalls in the Atlas Mountain, then we follow the mules path down to the Azzaden valley through juniper forest to get to Tizi Oussem village.
Overnight at the Guest house in the village.

Day 2 : Tizi Oussem – Mattat - Aguersioual - Marrakech

This morning after breakfast the guide will ensure your belongings are packed in the mules, we’ll take an impressive hike at the valley discovering its charming Berber villages, at this point we’ll have more ups and downs paths visiting Tizi Oussem, Id Issa village, Tizi Oudid mountain pass (2000m), we pass across matat village after a wild thurifer juniper forest, we meet again with our team for lunch under walnut groves and relax near the river. This is the last part of the hike, we make sure your luggage is packed in the you’ll be transferred back to Marrakech ( arrive approx 17h)
