4 Days Trek From Marrakech to atlas mountains .

In this 4 days trek you will walk the Azzaden and Ait Mizane Valleys, getting up close to the Toubkal mount ,and incredibly scenic trails during the journey. Discover a section of our Extreme hikes and experience our unique culture and Amazigh life along the way.

  • Day 1 : Marrakech - Imi Oughlad - Tiziane

    From Marrakech, we will travel towards Imi Oughlad (1450m) , our starting point , passing by the gorges of Tahanaout, Moulay Brahim and Asni valley. You will find our team waiting for you, a small briefing and a cup of mint tea, muleteers will pack your luggage and necessary camping material.

    We will set off at a leisurely pace into the forest of pine and juniper arriving to Tizi N’Tachet, from the top a panoramic view of Imlil and Azzaden valleys.Later, we stop for a picnic lunch and we continue toward Tiziane a small Berber Village. You will sleep sweetly tonight at an Amazigh guesthouse located in the deep part of the Atlas Mountains. 5 hours walk.

  • Day 2 : Tiziane - D’kent Valley

    Ready yourself with the promise of spectacular views as we start the day with Berber breakfast and begin the climb toward Tizi Taghrout pass as we ascend through terraces of large walnut trees in the Assif n’Ouissadene Valley. 

    The scenic view of the Azzaden valley is breathtaking as we reach the highest point of the Tizi Taghrourt pass(1995m). Afterward, you will notice the terrain changing into red, yellow, and grey rocks and soils landscape as we continue to the Assaka spring for a stop. 

    We will enjoy a tasty lunch before heading down to D’kent Valley on a relatively easy hike that takes about 2 hours before we reach the D’Kent village . 

    In this typical Berber Village we will spend the night in a guesthouse or a bivouac.

  • Day3 : D’kent Valley - Tamsoult

    From our camp, we will hike across the uphills passing by a beautiful view of terraced fields and groves of walnut trees in the valley to reach the pass of Tizi N Tougdalt (2700m). From the forested slopes of Tizi N’Tougdalt we will descend through Juniper forest and break out of the tree line to meet our team where we will stop for lunch. 

     Later, our direction is the village of Tamsoult. We follow the track through mountain forest and along the Assif n’Ouissadene valley to reach the village of Tizi Oussem then we continue to the Tamsoult village where we set our camp. 

    It is an awesome hike with spectacular views! This evening we will stay in the Tamsoult village known as the summer village , enjoying the scenery and the delicious bereber fare.

  • Day4 : Tamsoult - Imlil

    This day can go one of two ways, we can either visit one of the highest waterfalls in the Atlas Mountains -Tamsoult waterfall- or we can visit the famous Chamharouch Marabout. (you can discuss your preferred option while booking your trip). 

    Then you will descend to Imlil village knowing this is the end of your Active Adventure trip in the Atlas Mountains. You’ll go home knowing you’ve hiked the Atlas mountains and immersed yourself in its beautiful valleys and you have discovered one of the most spectacularly beautiful regions in Morocco. 

    You will be transferred to marrakech or the airport. If you have more time in Morocco, we’re happy to help arrange extra accommodation.
